MOSOMO
Methylsulfonylmethane
+ VITAMIN C

MSM European patent no. EP0103886B1

Methylsulfonylmethane is a stable, odourless metabolite of DMSO. DMSO has long
been used to efficiently reduce joint and tendon swelling, post-traumatic pain and
swelling, as well as fatigue in competition horses.
According to experiments by Dr. Metcalf*, Methylsulfonylmethane has
been shown to be particularly efficient in contributing to the treatment of
the following symptoms:

  • Back pain not related to spinal cord lesions, but deriving from swelling of the muscles, ligaments and vertebrae (problems to which racehorses are especially prone).
  • Epiphysitis (widespread in young growing colts)
  • Arthirtis and myositis (especially in older horses)
  • Breathing problems (even if caused by allergies)
  • Navicolitis and laminitis (problem encountered especially in jumping- horses).
  • Gastric ulcers: Studies and experiments have shown that Methylsulfonylmethane covers the mucous membranes with a protective film, keeping gastric hyperacidity in check so as to reduce ulcers and gastritis, both of which
have recently been found to be widespread in competition horses.

Methylsulfonylmethane is abundant in breast milk and in fresh vegetables, although it is almost totally absent in the normal cereal and straw based staple generally fed to sports horses and ponies. It is therefore very important to integrate the diet with this fundamental element so as to avoid all the syndromes deriving from deficiencies that would inevitably arise in the case of purely conventional diets. Methylsulfonylmethane is completely non-toxic even in very high doses.
